Kristoff Lil Pistoff

This is the Corona version of the original Pistoff. It has a dark toothy wrapper and a shaggy foot. The cold draw is perfect. Tonight’s beverage is a Firestone Walker 2019 Mole Merkin Milk Stout with cocoa nibs, cinnamon and chili pepper.

The initial flavor notes are strong and woody. There is a hint of black cherry on the palate in the thick smoke. The ash is mottled grey and the burn is mostly even.

In the first third the cherry notes are mostly occluded by the flavors of the ale. The profile remains strong and woody and puffs between sips bring the cherry notes back. So far the ash is pretty solid and the burn remains steady.

During the second third the flavor profile remains steady with some black pepper notes in the retrohale. The ash dropped into the ashtray when I set the cigar down, but what did stayed solid. The burn remains steady.

Approaching the final inch the subtle cherry notes make for a nice complexity with the strong and woody flavor profile. The construction is just about perfect. The retohale is staying smooth and medium with the pepper notes. Overall a great medium to full bodied smoke.

9.6/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
