Manolo Quesada 75 Churchill

This cigar was created to honor the 75th birthday of the owner of the Quesada brand. It has a rich dark wrapper with coffee and tobacco notes from the foot. There are a couple of veins along the wrapper. Tonight’s beverage is a Real Ale Coffee Porter.

Initially it is a very earthy cigar with light coffee and pepper notes. The early retrohale is very smooth. The ash is solid and the burn is even.

In the first third the coffee notes increase. The flavor profile is very well-balanced and medium bodied. The malt flavor in the ale is distinct but does not have much effect on the cigar. The ash fell at about one inch, but the burn remains even.

During the second third the pepper in the profile remains subtle while the coffee and earth remain steady. The ash was solid after the earlier drop, but I tapped it to avoid dropping it in my lap. There are some cracks in it now so I will continue to tap it into the ashtray. The burn remains even.

Approaching the final inch the earthy flavor has become dominant with a light coffee note remaining. The ash returns to mostly solid and the burn remains very even.

Overall a very pleasant cigar with good complexity and excellent construction. 9.3/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
