BLTC Morphine Lancero 2021

This is a beautiful cigar with a smooth dark wrapper. Light notes of sweet cocoa are in the foot. The cold draw is perfect. Today’s beverage is a cold Topo Chico.

The initial flavors are medium to full bodied with an earthy base; also a touch of sweetness. The retohale is full bodied with black pepper notes. The ash is light grey and looks solid. The burn is even.

In the first third the flavor profile develops a distinct coffee flavor. The sweetness has all but disappeared. The retohale also has developed coffee notes while retaining most of the pepper notes. The ash remains fairly solid but droops to one side, so I tapped it in the ashtray to avoid getting it in my lap. The burn remains even. In my opinion, Topo Chico is a solid pairing with any cigar, but hot or cold black coffee would also be good.

During the second third the coffee notes intensify, completely overtaking any remaining sweetness. The pepper in the retohale has lessened, leaving it very smooth. The ash remains fairly solid, but the burn has developed a runner that may need touching up.

Approaching the final inch a very light sweetness returns to the flavor profile with pepper appearing on the palate. The pepper notes return in the retohale. After touching up the run, the burn returns to even and the ash remains fairly solid.

The finish is smooth with light coffee and pepper notes. Overall a very good cigar . Apart from the one run, the construction is very good. The complexity is very good with a couple of changes in the profile. 9.6/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
