United Pencil Maduro

This is a $2 MSRP panatella from United Cigars. A mixed filler stick with a rustic wrapper. No cut is needed and the cold draw is perfect.

Initial flavors are lightly sweet with a touch of cocoa. The retohale has a distinct pepper note. The ash is light grey and fragile and the burn is even.

In the first third the flavor profile and the retohale remain steady. The ash falls off easily but the burn remains even.

During the second third earth notes come into the flavor profile, pretty much covering the cocoa. The strength of the cigar has developed into medium bodied. As the strength increases, the ash is more solid. The retohale remains steady. The burn remains perfect.

Approaching the final inch the flavor profile remains steady, as does the retohale. The ash remains fairly firm and the burn has become mostly diagonal, although it evens itself.

Overall a good cigar, with good complexity and construction despite its appearance. Definitely a solid value smoke. 8.5/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
