June 11, 2024 – HumidifGroup, a company specialized in the design and fabrication of packaging and accessories for the cigar industry, has stepped out of just packaging cigars into the shoe world.

Kingmakers brought HumidifGroup in to develop the packaging for a luxury humidor to support the launch of Kelsey Plum’s cigars. The WNBA superstar also launched her 2024 Under Armour shoes the same week, giving a nod to the cigars by including one of the cigar bands in the back of the shoe. The half shoe box half humidor coined the ‘shoemidor’ turned heads at the launch event held in Las Vegas last month.
Kingmakers created the new signature cigar for Plum that is a 6 x 52 toro. They call the cigar “a celebration of finesse and focus, offering a refined experience that lingers long after the final puff.”

The humidor was custom built in Esteli, Nicaragua by HumidifGroup’s sister company, Cigar Box Factory. The design was meant to showcase the unique collaboration between the shoes and the cigars in this one of a kind project.
Pierre Jebian, Director of HumidifGroup USA, led the project on behalf of HumidifGroup. He commented, “As the premier provider of packaging for the most prestigious cigar brands in the world, it is only fitting that our packaging services expand creatively into incredible collaborations like the ones Kingmakers assemble. This has been a spectacular project to be a part of, and we could not be happier for the successful launch of Ms. Plum’s cigar brand and her UnderArmour shoes.”
The Kingmakers team added, “We are incredibly pleased with the success of this launch and the fantastic Shoemidor that HumidifGroup brought to life for us. Our business thrives on this level of creativity and high standard of excellence, and we cannot wait for the next project that we can illuminate together with HumidifGroup.”
The “Shoemidor” was unveiled during the season opener for the Las Vegas Aces and showcased at the “All the Smoke” event in May that welcomed players and celebrities alike.
