Gran Habano El Enemigo

This is a very attractive cigar. One water spot on an otherwise flawless wrapper. Tonight’s beverage is a Great Nation Otter Milk Stout. Clean clip with my Palio reveals a very nice draw. According to the CigarMedics portable hygrometer reading 74% on the head and 71% in the foot Just about perfect.

Initial impressions are light pepper in an earthy medium bodied cigar. The early retrohale shows some pepper notes to follow. Ash and burn line are excellent.

In the first third the flavors are oak and light black pepper. To that add the Hobono wrapper flavors. Quite a flavorful smoke. And the construction markers are top notch. The milk stout is lightly sweet, but doesn’t affect the flavor of the cigar.

In the second third, the flavor profile remains oak, pepper, and some interesting side notes appear. This is a very good medium to full-bodied cigar. Did I mention the outstanding constellation? As with most Gran Habanos it’s just about perfect.

Approaching the final inch, some very light, almost sweet notes emerge, and it tastes more like fruity sweetness than the sweetness of the stout. The flavor profile remains the same. Complexity, but with very little change.

Overall a very good cigar. 9.6/10 because there were very few deductions. Joe Bob says check it out.
