The new offering from DE is a very attractive, soft-pressed cigar with great looking construction. Easy light with a pairing of Canadian rye, an easy choice for the Habano wrapper. Initial flavor profile shows earthy notes with subtle wood notes.

In the first third, medium spices appear in the retrohale, boosted by the addition of the rye. The ash developed a split at the foot which has settled.

In the second third the flavor profile settles down to medium + with solid earthy and oaky notes over a spicy finish. The ash continues to flake on the sides but the burn is very even.

In the final third the spice notes have settled to a pleasant white pepper note. The oak and earthy notes remain solid for a nicely complex blend.

The only real issue with the construction causing the flaky ash. And to be fair, these were released at PCA last month. Some humidor time should improve it. Still another great entry to the Undercrown line. 9.3/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
