Today United States District Court Judge Amit Mehta rendered a ruling, as part of the Premium Cigar Association’s litigation against the Food and Drug Administration, striking down the FDA’s decision to regulate premium cigars as arbitrary and capricious.

June 2022, Ellington, Connecticut – The Olmecs are the early Americas’ most mysterious and ancient civilizations.  The Olmecs pre-date the Mayans and Aztecs and are considered the “mother culture” of Mesoamerica.  They are the first to create mathematically precise pyramids, calendars, and, as far as we know, the first to smoke cigars.  The Heart Land of the Olmecs is the tropical lowlands of modern-day Mexican states of Veracruz, Tabasco, and San Andrés Tuxtla.  Today, this is the same region that grows some of the finest San Andrès Negro wrapper tobacco.  This seed variety is considered one of the oldest seed varieties in the world. 

In August of 2020 the State of California passed SB 793, prohibiting the sale of all flavored tobacco products and the Governor proceeded to sign it into law on August 28, 2020. Three days later this law was challenged using the state’s veto referendum mechanism before the ban could take effect.

The first is the La Zona 10 Year Anniversary cigar. This cigar is a celebration of the La Zona factory, where Espinosa Cigars started
making cigars in 2012 when Erik formed his own company. “Everything about this cigar is a tribute, from the cigar blend to the box design and the band. They are all throwbacks to when we first started out,” said Hector Alfonso.

Formerly Head of Production and Quality Control for Davidoff of Geneva, Diaz is producing “Freud Cigars Agape Limited Edition,” at his recently-opened factory, Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera. It will be Diaz’s first cigar following his departure from Davidoff of Geneva and the first cigar produced by his new workshop to hit the market.

Alec Bradley Cigar Co. today confirmed a report printed by the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) on May 10, 2022 announcing the company’s participation in the trade show attendee exclusive program. To date, Alec Bradley has not substantiated the report, but due to a multitude of tobacconist inquiries, the company is now electing to provide some details ahead of the PCA Trade Show, happening July 8-12, 2022, at the Sands Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV.
