The wrapper on this cigar is a little rough, but it has a beautiful color. It also has a nice firm bunch. The aroma from the foot is leather and cocoa. The cold draw is perfect. Tonight’s beverage is a More Cowbell IPA.
This is a very full bodied cigar. The initial flavors are cocoa and coffee. It is producing lots of thick smoke, with some black pepper in the retrohale. The burn line is very even.
The first third has mellowed some but it remains a full bodied cigar. Slow smoking is highly recommended. The flavors have intensified a bit as well. The ash holds fairly well up to about an inch. The burn remains even.
During the second third a hint of cinnamon joins the flavor profile. The body of the cigar remains pleasantly full. The body of the ash is solid although it continues to drop at intervals. The burn remains very even.
As the cigar progressed, the cap pieces unraveled, but otherwise had no effect on the enjoyment of the cigar. Approaching the final inch the complexity of flavors remains excellent. It is also a very well constructed cigar. 95
