This is a cigar with a somewhat rustic dark, oily wrapper. The bunch is firm and the cold draw is perfect. These are produced at the Oveja Negra factory, home of Black Label Trading Company. Tonight’s beverage is a Stash IPA from Independence Brewing Company.
Past the initial char, the flavors begin to blend cedar and cocoa in a smooth, medium bodied blend. The complexity of flavors is excellent. The burn is perfect and the ash is solid to at least an inch. The retrohale is very smooth.
The first third is very pleasant. A smooth blend of flavors with a bit of spice creeping in beneath. The ash fell at one inch. The burn remains very even.
During the second third the burn becomes somewhat uneven. The flavor profile remains excellent, with the various flavors blending together very well. By the end of the second third the burn has corrected.
Approaching the final inch the flavors remain solid and complex. The construction is immaculate. 93
