Plascencia Alma Fuerte Hex Toro

This cigar is unique in that it is box pressed in a hexagonal mold and has six distinct sides.

The Maduro wrapper is dark and smooth. The foot ring was a bit over glued and took a small part of the wrapper with it when I removed it. The foot has a nice earthy aroma. The cold draw is a bit generous. This morning’s beverage is a Stok Cold Brew espresso.

Initial flavors are earthy coffee with red pepper in the retrohale. The shape of the cigar makes it interesting to hold, although it is rounded off at the cap . The burn is even and the ash is light grey.

The first third is very smooth. This is a medium to full bodied cigar. Some sweet spice has joined the flavor profile. The smoke is very smooth and plentiful. The burn remains very even and the light grey ash is solid.

During the second third the ash drops in a solid chunk. The burn is also a bit uneven but not enough to correct. Some cedar notes join the flavor profile. The complexity of flavors is excellent.

Approaching the final inch the burn has self corrected and is very even again. The ash remains very solid. The construction and complexity are excellent. 90
