Oliva V 135th

This is the latest Oliva release and it looks great. A reverse torpedo with very light aromas from the foot but hearty cocoa and coffee notes from the perfect cold draw. Today’s beverage is a Founders KBS Espresso Stout.

Initial flavors are robust with cocoa, coffee and spices. The smoke is thick and smooth. The ash looks good but the burn is a bit off. It will probably self correct. The body of the ale is a perfect pairing.

Lounge Review: Grand Cathedral Cigars

Located in the historical “Cigar Capital of the World,” this renovation has turned a cathedral into an amazing cigar lounge. The indoor lounge is complete with a bar and the outside chairs are inviting and include a food truck on select days.

This place is well worth the visit. The humidor is large and stocked. Grand Cathedral is the Home of the “Casa Cuba Cigar Lounge & Club.”

The cold draw is slightly tight with light leather notes.

Initial flavors are light to medium bodied. There are some salty notes with the leather and light spices. The draw opens up very nicely. The ash is fairly solid and the burn is somewhat uneven to start.
